Dialogs on Knowledge and Technology Transfer 2008
Economists meet TT officers
The objectives of the workshop were the following:
· Establish direct contacts and exchanges between economists active on research on knowledge and technology transfer (KTT) with managers of KTT offices from leading European Universities.
· Provide a better mutual understanding and insights on the complex KTT processes, their implication and role on academic research as well as the economy.
· Improve the quality and the relevance of the KTT operational activities and research in Europe.
· Determine the type of collaboration that can be envisioned between both communities in the future.
The participants were selected on the relevance of their research (economists) and their experience (KTT managers). PhD students were also invited (see annex for the list).
The venue was provided by the Fondation Brocher (www.brocher.ch). It is located near Geneva, on a beautiful site the bank of the lake of Geneva. It provides an excellent opportunity to lead discussions and organize presentations in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
